Who Was Jesus and The Holy Spirit?

  1. This cannot be answered in a sentence or a blanket statement, because it involves much scripture throughout the entire Bible. God is a spirit, John 4:24. We must always keep this in mind, because it is the pivot point in understanding the Godhead. If we can understand this one thing then there is no need for us to be confused when speaking of the Godhead. Remember, you always come back to this, always. God is a Spirit . A spirit is invisible.

  2. In the beginning God. Genesis 1:1

  3. John 1:1-14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was made flesh.
    1. Verse 18 of St. John 1, the Son declared the Father.

  4. I Timothy 3:16, Without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifesting the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the gentiles, believed on in the world, received into glory.

  5. Telling of His birth, Isaiah 9:6.

    1. Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah said, behold a virgin shall be with child, and they shall call His name Emanuel, and Isaiah left it there. In Matt. 1:23 Behold a virgin shall be with child and they shall call His name Emanuel, which being interpreted is God With Us.  See John 1:14, I Timothy 3:16, Colossians 1:1-6, Colossians 2:8,9, John 16:25,26.

  6. Matt.1:18, Mary was found with child of the Holy Ghost, or, the spirit of God
    John 4:24.

    1. John 3:31-36 His spirit was not given to him by measure. All of the spirit of God was in Jesus Christ.
    2. Colossians 1:12-20, Colossians 2:8-10

  8. The body of Jesus Christ was the Son. The Sonship is merely the body of Jesus life from the Spirit of God. Hebrews 10:1-10, God prepared Himself a body to dwell in, so that He could be our sacrifice for sin, once and for all time.

    1. I Timothy 3:16
    2. John 14:1-20, Jesus comforts His disciples concerning His departure, and reveals himself as the Father and the Son. See John 4:24. The Spirit of God in human flesh. Then He promises to send the comforter.

      1. Notice in verse 18, I will come to you. John 4:24, God is a Spirit, so the Holy Ghost is the Spirit of Christ. John 14:16-26, Romans 8:9-11 Paul said without the Spirit of Christ you are none of His. John 16:17, Jesus promised to send the comforter. John 16:25-26, Jesus promised to speak plainly of the Father.
      2. The comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, John 14:26, will be sent in Jesus Name.
      3. John 14:28, Jesus is saying, the Spirit of God that dwells in this body is greater than this fleshly body. So the Holy Ghost is the Spirit of God that was in Jesus Christ, and the Spirit that indwells His people today.

  9. John 17:6, Jesus said I have manifested thy Name. So Jesus manifested the Name of Jehovah the Spirit. The Name of the Father, or the Spirit of God is Jesus.
