The Question Of Sin
JOHN 8:34
JOHN 15:22-27
God
hasn't changed His mind about sin; and He never will, because
God never changes. God hates sin. The entire Bible
could be summed up in these words "God loves righteousness
and He hates iniquity," Hebrews 1:9.
God will not tolerate sin. His holiness
will not allow Him to tolerate sin.
Because of sin Adam and Eve were driven from
the garden of Eden. God has some absolutes, and God's absolutes
for Adam and Eve was, In the day that you eat of the tree in the
midst of the garden, ye shall surely die. Satan came along
and tried to change Gods word, and said, hath God said?
Right away in the garden of Eden Satan was there twisting the
word of God, to the spiritual, and finally the physical destruction
of the first human beings; and because of that one disobedience,
death has come upon the whole human race. I Cor. 15:21-22;
Psalms 51:5; Romans 5:12-14, so through Adam we are all born in
sin. That is the reason Jesus came and died and shed his
blood to take away our sins, that we no longer should live in
sin. Sin must not reign in our mortal bodies Romans 6:12.
We are to cleanse ourselves of all filthiness of the flesh and
spirit, II Cor. 7:1.
God sent the flood and destroyed all humanity,
except Noah and his family; because of sin. God hates sin.
He won't even look upon sin. Jesus is our example and the
Bible said He knew no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth
I Peter 2:22. No, God has not changed His mind about sin,
and every sin has a just recompense of reward Jeremiah 16:18;
Jeremiah 25:14; Hebrews 2:1-4. Paul said, how shall
we escape if we neglect so great a salvation. Jesus didn't
come to save us in our sins, he came to save us from our sins,
take away sin, to wash us from our sin. Sin shall not have
dominion over you Romans 6:14.
God destroyed the twin cities of Sodom and Gomorrah,
because of their horrible sin. God hates sin. We are
wrong to believe that we can live a life of every day sin, and
still be saved. Jesus said, except ye repent, ye shall all
likewise perish Luke 13:1-5. Repentance is turning our back
on sin, godly sorrow for past sins II Cor. 7:10.

We must not go to the judgment with unrepented
sins or we will be turned away from God's presence I Tim. 5:24;
Eccl. 12:13,14.
All Have Sinned
Romans
3:23 - All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
Notice it says all "HAVE SINNED"
past tense.
Some will use this scripture along with Romans chapter
7, and I John 1:8-10 to say that man can't live above sin; but
these scriptures are talking about past sins. The old man,
the old nature. All have sinned. We were born
sinners. If we say we have no sin when we do have sin we
make Him a liar and His word is not in us.
Some would say we are the righteousness of God
no matter what we do after we come to the Lord, but this could
not be further from the truth, because we are to be dead indeed
to sin Romans 6:11; Romans 8:7, and if we be dead to sin
how can we live in sin any longer Romans 6:1-8; John 2:4-6;
I John 2:14,15; I John 3:1-9; II John verse 11.
We are the righteousness of God through the Holy
Ghost Romans 14:17; I Cor. 15:34 awake to righteousness and sin
not. We can't just take a verse of scripture that looks
good to us and forget about the rest of what the writer is saying,
but some do it, even those who are supposed to be leaders of the
church. We must study to show ourselves approved rightly
dividing the word of truth. Precept upon precept, line upon
line, here a little and there a little. Man shall not live
by bread alone, but by every word that procedeth out of
the mouth of God.
Jesus came to take away sins not that we should
continue in our sins. Israel went into captivity because
of their sins, and in Ezekiel the 18th chapter He asked them,
why will you die O house of Israel. And in verses 20-32,
the soul that sinneth it shall die. If the sinner turns
from his sin he shall live, but if the righteous man turn from
his righteousness back into sin, God will forget all his righteousness.
The Apostle John said, little children I pray
that ye sin not, but if you do sin, we have an advocate with the
father Jesus Christ the righteous I John 2:1. But this does
not give us a license to sin. If we do sin and it was not
a willful or planned out sin we can repent. Hebrews 10:26;
I Tim. 1:13.
Jesus said, all sin and blasphemies shall be
forgiven, but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be
forgiven in this world or the world to come. To mock the
Holy Ghost in a person is blasphemy Luke 12:12; Matt. 12:22-32.
The Pharisees said that Jesus cast out devils by Beelzebub the
prince of devils, meaning that Christ had the spirit of Satan
in him. Jesus said, you can criticize me, but if you criticize
the spirit that is within me, it won't be forgiven in this world
or the world to come.
We can't be good and bad at the same time.
We can't be a Christian and a sinner at the same time Matt. 12:33.
A good tree brings forth good fruit, We can't serve two
masters. |
