The Last Instructions of Jesus
Matt: 28:18-29
- final instructions.
Mark 16:15-19 - final instructions.
Luke 24:44-53 - Jesus final words, or His final
instructions.
The disciples had no understanding of what was
going to take place right up to the end. Luke 18:34. Acts
1:6-15 - they obeyed Jesus and went to Jerusalem, into an upper
room where the Holy Ghost fell.
Acts 1:8 Ye shall receive power after the Holy Ghost is come upon
you; and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and
in all Judea, and in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the
earth.
This early church was a power packed church. Example:
Acts 3:1-26.
The Holy Ghost is the spirit of God, the spirit
of the resurrected Christ. The Holy Ghost comes to dwell in the
heart and lives of every one who believes, and obeys the Gospel,
as the comforter, sustainer, and keeper. John 14:16-26. Romans
8:9-11. Paul said without the spirit of Christ you are none of
His.
The Apostle Jude spoke of a common salvation.
Jude 1-25. All of the Apostles spoke the same thing. I Corinthians
1:10-12, Galations 1:12-24, Galations 2:1-9, II John 6-11.
In Isaiah 28:9-14 Isaiah is prophesying of the
Holy Ghost. He said whom shall He teach knowledge? And to whom
shall he make to understand Doctrine? Them that are weaned from
the milk and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon
precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line;
here a little and there a little; for with stammering lips and
another tongue will I speak to this people.
To whom he said, this is the rest wherewith
you may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing, yet
they would not hear. But the Word of the Lord was unto them,
precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line
upon line; here a little and there a little; that they might go,
and fall backward, and be broken, and snared and taken.
Wherefore hear the Word of the Lord, you scornful
men that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.
We must search the scriptures and get the whole picture of
God's Plan of Salvation. John 5:39, Hosea 4:6. We must believe
on Him as the scriptures have said, from Genesis to Revelation,
not just saying "I Believe" from our head, we must know
why we believe it, by searching the scriptures, precept upon precept,
line upon line, here a little and there a little. There are so
many voices in the world today that we must get down on our knees
and cry out to God, that we can truly know His voice. Jesus said,
My sheep know My voice, and another they will not follow. John
10:1-5.
